Dr. Mulcahey is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in shoulder and knee surgery as well as sports medicine. She is a New Hampshire native who graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry in 2000 and the University of Rochester School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine in 2006. She did her orthopaedic residency and fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at Brown University.
Dr. Mulcahey then completed a sports medicine fellowship at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine. During her fellowship, she worked with San Diego Padres (MLB) and San Diego State University team coverage.
In 2016, Dr. Mulcahey was one of four surgeons chosen for the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) Traveling Fellowship.
Also, Dr. Mary Mulcahey joined Tulane’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as the Director of the Women’s Sports Medicine Program in April 2017. Dr. Mulcahey has been essential in the creation, development, and leadership of a holistic approach to the care of active women in that capacity.
