Dr. Seth Sherman graduated from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York in 2005 with a medical degree. He finished his residency at the Hospital for Special Orthopaedic Surgery in 2010 and his fellowship at the Rush University Medical Center GME Office of Illinois, Chicago in 2011.
Moreover, he served as an assistant team physician for the Chicago Bulls and White Sox during his sports medicine fellowship in Chicago while he worked as a team physician for the Mizzou Tigers in the NCAA SEC conference before joining the Stanford squad in July 2019.
Dr. Sherman specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive knee and shoulder surgery. He also has research interest and sub specializes in knee joint preservation/cartilage repair and the patellofemoral joint. Dr. Sherman, as a tertiary care practitioner, provides non-surgical and salvage surgical options for active patients with complicated conditions, as well as in situations when earlier procedures have failed.
With his interest in research, Dr. Sherman co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and chapters which regularly discusses at national and international conferences.
He is also the Chairman of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy Committee and is on the boards of many other organizations such as AOSSM, AANA, ISAKOS, and ICRS.
