Dr. Lauren Geaney graduated with B.S Degree in Mathematics and Comprehensive Sciences at Villanova University. She also studied at UConn School of Medicine where she finished her degree in Medicine. She is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon and is currently the program director at UConn Health’s UConn Musculoskeletal Institute. She received both her medical and orthopedic training at UConn. Dr. Geaney then finished her foot and ankle fellowship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, under Dr. Mark Myerson’s direction.
Dr. Geaney’s professional practice is dedicated to the treatment of foot and ankle issues. Her specialization includes foot and ankle arthritis, ankle instability and sports injuries, tendinitis, fractures, and forefoot abnormalities such as bunions and hammertoes. She is also involved in studies aimed at improving our understanding of foot and ankle pathologies. In 2020, she joined the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeons as Vice-Chair of the Education Committee.
